Our client a large Canberra-based private company is seeking an in-house lawyer with a minimum of 2 years’ post admission experience who wishes to challenge, expand and extend their skills by joining a dynamic, expanding business.
The practice covers a wide range of areas of law, with a particular focus on commercial and property law. You will also be responsible for working on privacy, IT and a variety of licensing, advertising and corporate matters. Prior experience working on large projects and commercial experience is highly desirable. To be considered for a position in this business you will need to have experience in, or an aptitude for, the provision of legal services in an in-house environment. It is essential that you can display excellence in your legal work, analytical and conceptual skills, and sound professional judgement and initiative. Importantly, you will have the ability to work across high value, technically complex and challenging matters on set deadlines.
The practice operates flexibly and to succeed in the role you will enjoy the challenge of an environment that can change rapidly. Consequently, you will need to demonstrate adaptability and a willingness to learn new areas of law if required. You must also demonstrate a keen ability to identify, understand and provide mitigation for legal risks and have sound business acumen.
To be eligible for appointment, you must be an Australian citizen. You must be admitted, or eligible to be admitted to practice as a legal practitioner of the High Court or Supreme Court of an Australian State or Territory.
