Manager, Public Policy, Government and Legal Affairs
A federal independent statutory office is seeking a senior lawyer to manage public policy, government and legal functions.
Ideally based in Sydney, and working closely with senior leaders including statutory office holders, the successful candidate will help shape complex policy and compliance issues, as well as review legislation and provide policy and strategic advice on a broad range of issues, many of which are highly sensitive.
The successful candidate will have outstanding oral and written communication skills, as well as policy experience, the ability to manage a small team and build relationships across government. All candidates must have legal qualifications, and experience working in the criminal jurisdiction, supervising teams of lawyers, or possibly with the Royal Commisison into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, may be an advantage.
This position is being offered on a contract basis at the EL2 level. The salary is negotiable around $135,000 per annum plus superannuation.
